Green polo and Blue jeans: The Verve @ Gloucester.

Wigan, England. Shoegaze. Space Rock. 90's.

What do all these have in common? The Verve.

Forming in 1989, Richard Ashcroft (Vocalist), Nick McCabe (Guitarist), Simon Jones (Bassist), Peter Salisbury (Drummer) came together. By the mid-90's they had released three full albums and multiple Ep's. Being recognized as "one of the tightest knit, yet ultimately volatile bands in history", they finally broke through to worldwide fame in 1997 with Bittersweet Symphony, off their album "Urban Hymns". They have broken up three times and reunited twice, with the last being in 2008 (including a sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden). They are timeless, and many hope they reunite once again.

Here's a clip from the Gloucester Music Festival in '94, with the band playing Slide Away. Enjoy.
